umbilicus of the earth

Hola friends and family. We've landed and what a magical place Lake Atitlan is! The Mayan's call this the umbilicus of the Earth since the lake is the mother of all life and the fire within the 3 volcanoes the life force of all beings. Every morning we wake to amazing sunrises (like this foto), go down to the water to wash the sleep off and arise to the days events.

Rick is hard at work. His dissertation is flowing freely and is inspiring much self discovery and spiritual exploration. Amidst all his writing, Rick some how still manages to down load music and chat with his cheese buddies

Amanda is spending her days creating, adventuring, and Rolfing. This pic is her first fire performance on the full moon. There are many spiritual seekers and healing centers around the lake. Amanda's found her niche instructing two yoga classes a week, muchos Rolfing, and leading a scavenger hunt for the local backpackers joint.

Life moves slowly here. Every moment is special in either a challenging way, like learning to speak Spanish or living amongst gypsies, or it is very peaceful, just breathing in life admiring the nature around. Mayans are very colorful and laugh a lot. Each region has their tribal colors and unique language, and the women pretty much run the community, righteously so!

Bodhi is stoked to be here! He has tons of space and a new best friend, a huge 1 year old Akita German Shep mix. All they do is play and eat eachothers faces! There are no roads in Santa Cruz so we hike to and fro everywhere, keeping us healthy!

Much love to you all and keep in touch.
Visits are also highly encouraged!
